We are looking for a care assistant for an elderly woman living in Feucht near Nuremberg. The assignment is open-ended and long-term. There are no night duties.
Tasks: companionship and everyday support, help with walking using a walker and wheelchair, help with standing up and transfers (often just offering a hand), assistance with personal hygiene, bathing with a bath lift and dressing, help with intimate hygiene, reminding her to take her medication regularly, cooking, shopping and light housework. The senior is independent with eating and drinking, so please encourage sufficient fluid intake. She has some difficulties with hearing and vision, so patience and clear communication are important.
The flat is large, on the 2nd floor, with no lift. The care assistant has her own room with TV, shared use of the kitchen and access to two bathrooms. There are no pets and no other people in the household who need care. Smoking is only allowed outside the flat. Feucht is a small town of about 13,000 residents, the S-Bahn to Nuremberg takes about 10 minutes, and shops, doctors and a bakery are within a 10–15 minute walk. Larger shopping is organised by the family.
Start: arrival between 9 and 10 November 2026.

What to expect
What this assignment means in practice
The key points from this assignment's description and how to prepare for them.
Wheelchair and transfers
Transfers are about technique, not strength. Before you travel, ask which aids the household has, such as a hoist, a care bed or a transfer board.
No night shifts
According to the description, nights are free of duties. It's still worth agreeing working hours and breaks with the family right after you arrive.
Independent senior
The senior largely manages on their own, so companionship, running the household and respecting their independence are important — you help where help is needed.
Non-smoker
The family expects a non-smoker or smoking only outside the house. Say openly in your application whether you smoke — it makes matching easier.
Everyday German
Required level: conversational. Before you travel, brush up on phrases for meals, personal care and shopping. Centrum Eurokontakt also runs a German course for caregivers (taught in Polish).
Location
Where you will work
