We are looking for a care assistant for a long-term placement in Bremen. The calm and friendly senior woman is independent in many areas but needs reliable support with mobility, personal hygiene and dressing.

Tasks include: walking assistance with a rollator, help with transfers, support with showering on a shower chair, help with dressing, assistance with intimate hygiene and changing incontinence products, reminding her to take medication as a regular duty, and help at mealtimes. She eats and drinks independently. Light household tasks are also part of the role: laundry, cleaning, cooking and occasional shopping. Because of mild hearing and memory difficulties, patience and clear speech are important.

The home is barrier-free and offers a private room for the carer, a private bathroom and Wi-Fi. There are no pets and no other people in need of care in the household. Family members live nearby and help with doctor visits and shower days. Smoking is allowed only outside the living area. Occasional night duties may be required, not every night. The position is open-ended, starting immediately.

Requirements

  • German language skills at conversational level
  • Driving licence not required
  • Experience with elderly care is an advantage
  • Patience, empathy and a calm manner, especially with mild memory issues
  • Willingness to help with personal hygiene and dressing
  • Non-smoker in the home (smoking only outside)
  • Willingness to take occasional night duties
