We are looking for a care assistant for a senior in Bad Dürkheim. The senior is only partly independent in daily life and needs regular support: with intimate hygiene and changing incontinence products, with showering, dressing and moving around the home. She has mild memory problems and difficulty with orientation in time and place, so patience and calm are important. The care assistant reminds her of daily tasks and of taking her medication (medication is prepared by a nurse).
The senior cannot move around independently and cannot climb stairs, so help with standing up and transfers is needed. Her hearing is reduced, so clear speech and face-to-face contact help. The daily routine is calm: getting up around 8 am, breakfast at 8:30, lunch at 12 noon, coffee in the afternoon, dinner around 6:30–7 pm, and she goes to bed independently around 10 pm. No night shifts are required. The duration of the assignment will be agreed. The care assistant has two half days off per week.
The care assistant lives in the household in a private room with a bed, wardrobe, window and lockable door. The apartment is about 70 m² with a private garden; the building has stairs and the apartment is not barrier-free. The toilet and bathroom are not on the same floor as the room, and there is no private kitchen. There are no pets in the household and no other residents; smoking is not allowed. A supermarket and bakery are within walking distance (about 200 m), and family visits regularly. Start: 16.11.2026.
Requirements
- Good German language skills
- No driving licence required
- Non-smoker – smoking in the household is not permitted
- Experience caring for older people, ideally with memory problems
- Willingness to help with intimate hygiene and changing incontinence products
- Patience, empathy and reliability when reminding about medication
